Under-21 Barclays Premier League Season 2012-13
The 2012-13 season of the Under-21 Barclays Premier League was a thrilling chapter in the history of youth football. A total of 22 clubs participated in this season, with 17 from the Premier League and five from the Championship. The teams were divided into one group of eight and two groups of seven, each playing a full home and away programme in the initial group stage. This format ensured a high level of competition and provided the young players with a taste of the rigours of professional football.
The stakes were high as the winners of Qualification Tiers 1 & 2 faced off in a play-off on 7th May. The victorious team then went on to challenge the winner of the Elite Group in the first Semi-Final on 13th May.
