United considering new £2bn stadium by end of year

The taskforce, chaired by Lord Sebastian Coe, includes Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham and former Manchester United captain Gary Neville.

Ratcliffe’s recent £1.25 billion acquisition for a 27.7% stake in the club includes £237 million earmarked for stadium investment.

Manchester United’s Chief Operating Officer, Collette Roche, has been reviewing global stadium redevelopments, including Perth’s Optus Stadium and Real Madrid’s renovated Bernabeu Stadium.
